Tape measure is a flexible ruler used to measure size or distance. It is usually made up of ribbon, plastic, fibreglass or metal strip.

Common tape measure has two sides. The metric gradings are in centimetres. It ranges from 1 to 150. The reverse side has the imperial gradings in inches which ranges from 1 to 60 in common tape measures.

Tape measures can be used in taking body measurements, drafting patterns and measuring fabrics.
