So I watched a video on nurse Vicky my favorite nurse/midwife page about a man whose wife was in labour and he was being asked to sign the consent from for CS and the man refused even insisting that he will divorce her if she goes through the kniiΓ―fe
Am like does these kind of men still exist in this modern world?ππππππ
Then on a second thought am like why will the hospital be waiting for the man to sign and from the way the woman was crying and shouting you will know that she is in serious labour pain but for reasons best known to the docs and nurses she can't push. So why not give the woman the form to sign while she calls her family members to come as soon as possible
Please if it's against the law for the woman to sign then that law should be looked into because one can't see herself in a tight corner and won't be given opportunity to save her life.
This reminds me of when I gave birth to my boy CMO.....
I was booked for CS because my baby refused to turn even at 37 weeks so doc booked me against the next week which is 38th week.
According to him I must not fall into labour with that condition because it may not end well or it may still lead to emergency CS' by that time the survival of the baby will be 50:50
Fast forward to the day before I was to ungergo the CS, I went to the hospital a night before as instructed with my husband and my elder sister whom we had already arranged that she will be there with me, she came from her location a day before that night we went to the hospital. So after all the part payment, checking of my BP which unusually came out high that night, unusually because through out my antenatal days I have never had a high BP... Maybe I was thinking about the CS unconsciously , yes because I was strong and my mind was too, I took it with a good fate and was ready and hopeful for the best... I was surprised my BP was high shaa . Then paying for the pints of bl@ in case... And all the necessary arrangements for the night, my husband left and went home.
Very early the next morning around 6am the nurse on duty came and did her job then later she brought THE CONSENT FORM, as my husband was not yet in the hospital that early morning because he had to prepare breakfast for my sister before coming, the nurse gave my sister the form to sign without any long story.... I believe this is how it should be done, and I know if my sister was not around I would have signed it.
Meanwhile my husband came later around 7am but my CS started around 11am
So you see it's not as if it's because he was not there, it means that anyone close to me could sign it if not they would have waited till he came which is part of the reason I am writing this and my opinion from the beginning. I believe everything the hospital should be doing is supposed to be- "save life first"
Now someone will ask what if something goes wrong, as far as it's the woman that signed it she has consented to anything she sees she will take, I mean it's her life for crying out loud, why will someone else be the one to consent to whether she will be fine or notπ€·π€·π€·π€·
Abeg let me stop here......
On a very good day I will share the reason my baby refused to turn heads down, yes something caused it, it was not normal... That is why we named him Chiemerie (God has won) Marvel (Miracle)
