- A genuine smile.

That is why this year’s Customer Service Week theme THE EXTRA MILE resonates deeply with The Godswill Effect

Because whether you are serving a customer at a filling station, supermarket, auto service centre, food outlet, drink depot or behind the scenes, every interaction is a brand experience.

And here’s what I have learned: Customers may forget what you sold them, but they rarely forget how you made them feel (experience).

And sometimes, it is simply about doing a little more than expected. As someone working at the intersection of digital communications, customer experience and brand visibility, I see this clearly:
- You cannot build a powerful brand with communication alone. You build it through experiences worth talking about.
- The billboard may attract the customer.
- The social media post may bring them in.
- The promotion may make them buy.
- But the experience determines whether they come back.

So, to every customer service professional and every employee who interacts with customers: Don't just do your job. Make the experience count.
