ONE OF MY UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIES IN THE TEXTILE WORLD
If someone had told me years ago that I’d end up in the textile world, I would’ve laughed.
Honestly.
When I started, everything felt new… almost intimidating. The tasks my senior colleagues handled with ease? I struggled with them. They were fast, confident, fluid. I was slow, careful, second-guessing myself. Sometimes I wondered, “What am I even doing here?”
But one thing kept me going: open-mindedness and a strong willingness to learn.
Then one unforgettable day happened.
My boss handed me a task — a “Yoruba pattern” on a 5-yard fabric.
At that time, I had only spent 4 months learning how to design.
Four. Months.
This was a design my senior colleagues could finish in about 2 hours.
Me? I stood there silently, almost waiting for my ancestors to descend and give my hands special powers 😅
Because honestly… how???
Still, I started.
One hour passed.
One hour turned into two.
Two became three.
After 3 hours and 30 minutes, I finally finished.
I remember that feeling clearly — relief, pride, disbelief.
I said to myself, “Yeah… I actually did it.”
All through that process, my colleagues kept encouraging me, making it look simple, reminding me not to give up. And that day taught me something powerful: growth hides inside discomfort.(The Power of the right community)
Fast forward to today — with consistency, practice, and conscious effort to improve my speed —
I can now finish a 5-yard Yoruba pattern in 1 hour 35 minutes
This is my reminder to you:
👉🏽 I didn’t start with talent. I started with curiosity.
👉🏽 I didn’t start fast. I started willing.
👉🏽 And if I can do this — you absolutely can too.
Today, I design fabrics worn by thousands.
And this class is me shortening that journey for you.
📅 It runs only once in March
⏳ Registration closes once slots are filled
🤍 I’ll personally mentor only those in this batch
🤝 You’ll also join a community of like-minded designers after the class
If you’ve been waiting for a sign — this is it.
