Devotional: “Beloved Brother”
_Galatians 2:11-14 | 2 Peter 3:15_
Paul and Peter had a hard moment.
In Antioch, Paul “opposed Peter to his face” because Peter’s actions were sending the wrong message about the Gospel. It was public. It was direct. It was necessary.
Years later, Peter writes about Paul and calls him *“our beloved brother.”*
No grudge. No shade. Just honor.
*What this teaches us:*
1. *Truth can be spoken in love.* Paul didn’t gossip. He addressed it face to face to protect what mattered.
2. *Correction doesn’t have to cancel relationship.* Peter didn’t get bitter. He grew, and he honored the same man who corrected him.
3. *Unity is bigger than disagreement.* Two leaders, one disagreement, and they still chose family over pride.
In a world that cancels quickly, God calls us to confront gently and love deeply.
You can protect truth _and_ protect people.
You can disagree _and_ still call them “beloved.”
That’s maturity. That’s the Gospel.
*Prayer:*
Lord, give me the courage of Paul to speak truth, and the heart of Peter to forgive and honor. Help me choose unity over pride today. Amen.
Disagreement doesn’t have to mean division.
Paul and Peter show us that you can correct in love and still call each other “beloved.”
Which one do you need more of today: the courage to speak truth, or the grace to forgive?
