Why is my black clothes fading?

Black color fades due to the friction that results when clothes rub against each other in the washing machine. More precisely, friction causes the fibers to break, and the ends of those fibers are exposed.

To keep your black clothes and black jeans dark, wash your garments inside out in cold water on a delicate cycle. Be sure to use a low heat setting in the dryer or air dry to prevent fading. Remember to always check the care tag on your clothing for proper washing and care instructions.

Does vinegar brighten black clothes?
That's right, white distilled vinegar is your best friend when it comes to naturally protecting the dark colors in your garments. There are a few ways to treat dark clothes with vinegar. – Add a cup of vinegar to the wash during the rinse cycle.

Does salt help dark clothes?
Salt stops your darks from bleeding into other clothing and also acts as a powerful stain remover. (It can also prevent yellowing is your whites.) For dark colors like navy blue or plum, add 1 cup table salt to the rinse cycle.

Benefits of starching clothes

Stains are easier to remove as starch helps prevent them from penetrating fabrics. The starch seals the individual fibers making it more difficult for stains to pe*****te through the fabric. Regularly starching your clothing will also hold that pressed appearance longer. Clothes are more resistant to wear from rubbing.

So many people are in a rush when it’s time to do laundry and pack the washer with almost everything at the same time. Is it right to wash towels with clothes? Experts say no to this idea.

There are a few reasons why this is not advised. The main one is that towels are notorious for being huge lint producers (gotta love cotton)! If you wash a load of fairly new towels, you’ll notice that there is an enormous amount of lint in the dryer screen. Imagine that lint getting trapped on your delicate clothes, your shirt, your favorite sweater! It’s a nightmare to remove.

Another reason is that towels and sheets always need to be washed on hot and on a long wash cycle. Towels collect and absorb our bacteria and skin cells each time we use them, so the sanitation required for them to become clean again is unique from the clothing that we wear after our towels have done their job! When clothes are washed for a longer period of time than they need to be, there is an unnecessary amount of agitation that takes place. This leads the clothes to looking old before their time.

It can also cause the elastic to break down sooner on certain items and damage things like lace and netting.

Washing towels with clothes can transfer germs and bacteria between items in the wash. For sanitary reasons, you should always wash bath towels separately from clothing items.

There are a few items that you may be able to make an exception for, however. If you’re running a small load of towels and really want to throw additional items in to save water, some sturdy clothes, like jeans can be included.

We hope you find this information helpful and Laundry will always be available to help dry clean all your dirty items without stress. Call 09124062040, Thanks

Why Does Clothing Shrink?

Fabric is made up of a variety of threads knit together in a kind of web. In between the threads in this web are tiny gaps. Water and heat can cause these gaps to become smaller. Wet fibres that are then exposed to heat will shrink because the heat causes the water molecules to evaporate. As they evaporate, the gaps shrink and the fibres draw closer together.

Certain natural fibres, like cotton or wool, are more vulnerable to shrinkage. Clothing that hasn’t been properly pre-shrunk is also more susceptible.

How to Prevent Shrinking

To protect your clothing, you need to know and understand the washing instructions for each piece. Some clothing can’t be exposed to hot water and must be washed only in the cold cycle. There are some items that can be washed, but not put in the dryer. These must be flat dried or hung. Always follow the washing instructions found on the tag.

Some clothing should not be put into a washing machine at all. For an item of clothing that is labelled.
