Sometimes ehn, being a fashion designer is not for the faint-hearted 😂.
A client will bring fabric, show me style, and the first thing they’ll say is: ‘abeg oh, I don’t like fitted clothes, I want it free free! Very free!!'
One aunty even came to my store to sew two-piece top and palazzo. She pointed at my display wide mouth palazzo and said, ‘Make it big like this one!’ I reminded her that her style is straight palazzo, but she insisted—‘I want it BIG!’
I delivered, she tried it on, she was super happy, loved how free it was, and even danced small inside my store 😍.
Next day… phone rings. Guess what aunty said? 🤦🏽♀️
‘Hmm, I don’t like it oh, it’s too big. I actually prefer fitted and slim.’😯😱
Can you imagine?? 😂 She literally wore it and loved it the day before!
Fashion designers, I know I’m not alone in this—clients will humble you! 🙌
But at the end of the day, we still love what we do ❤️.
