After I got married in March of 2021, I stopped working and had been a stay at home Mom for my beautiful daughter Janan. The journey was beautiful but something was missing. I’ve always been a career woman and my job was important to me, but I couldn’t go to sites because of pregnancy and childcare and the demand for architects where I live was substantially low. So, I was bored out of my mind and needed something doing. I immediately chose dressmaking because seeing my daughter in beautiful dresses makes me happy. My mom has an old sewing machine lying around at home so I took it for repairs and My husband taught me how to sew. In no time I picked it up and before long, my creations caught the attention of friends, family and acquaintances. I began taking custom orders and selling master pieces to anybody willing to buy them. It wasn’t long before I came to realize how happy I make the people around me, especially cute little girls… the desire was planted in me to spread that happiness. I plan to teach other people how to make these dresses as well, we need more entrepreneurs around with the current economic status of Nigeria. Therefore I’ll be sharing behind the scenes videos and offering online classes as well. By teaching my audience to design and sew dresses, I will be empowering them to rise above poverty. This gives a profound meaning to what I do and a sense of contentment as well.
Stay tuned!
