LAST DAY OF SEPTEMBER!!

30 days ago I said I would post every day for 90 days.

Some days I had ideas
Some days I had zero motivation.
Some days customers stressed me…etc
But I showed up. 12/90 done.

I didn't go viral.
I didn't hit my goal
But I became consistent. And for someone like me who used to give up easily, that is WINNING.

October, we go again. 31-60.

*4THINGS I CHECK BEFORE I DELIVER A DRESS*

1. THE ZIP TEST - Does it zip smoothly without forcing? If I have to struggle, you will struggle.

2. THE SIT TEST - Can you sit down, raise your hand, and breathe? If not, it's not your size. We adjust.

3. THE INSIDE FINISHING - Are the seams neat? No loose threads? If the inside is dirty, the tailor was rushing.

4. THE MIRROR TEST - I wear it on the mannequin and check from far. Does it look like the picture you sent? If not, we fix it.

Because our client’s event is not a rehearsal. They need to look good and feel comfortable.

Today I almost didn't post.

Not because I have nothing to say.
Not because I don't have fabric to sew.

But because I'm overwhelmed.
Orders, content, 90 days streak, life be lifingg🤭... e choke sometimes😫

And I know if I feel like this, some of you business owners feel it too.

So this is for you: It's okay to feel tired.
Tired doesn't mean you're failing.
It means you're doing A LOT.

I'm not stopping. I'm just posting honest today and resting small.

*Are FITTINGS Really Necessary As A Fashion Designer?*

My honest take as a fashion designer is;

Fittings is not about sewing. *It's about respect.*

🧏🏽‍♀️*Why MOST designers skip fittings and lose money:*
You think it wastes time. So you collect measurements on WhatsApp, sew finish, then client comes and says "It's tight on my chest" — now you’re loosening, re-cutting, losing fabric, losing profit, losing your night.
That “time you saved” just cost you 3 hours + fuel + apology.

>>👉*When fittings is NOT necessary:*

- Ready-to-wear in standard sizes
- Repeat client whose measurements haven’t changed
- Simple styles like bubbly dresses with free sizes

*When fittings is NON-NEGOTIABLE:*
- Bespoke / wedding / aso-ebi
- First-time client
- Body-con, corset, or anything fitted on bust/hip
- Client whose body shape is... complicated to judge by tape alone

*Profound truth:*>>
A fitting is not you being unsure of your craft.
It’s you saying: _“Madam, you paid too much for me to guess.”_
Top designers charge for fittings because it’s part of QUALITY CONTROL. Tailors who don’t do fittings charge less because they’re doing trial and error!
So CEO, are you the tailor that gambles with fabric, or the designer that guarantees fit?

*4. The One Who Has Been With You From Day One*
When you were sewing in a small corner, she trusted you. Never use "I don blow" attitude on her.

*5. The One Who Pays Deposit Instantly*
No story, no "I will send later." She respects your policy. Respect her time too - deliver before deadline. She teaches other clients how to behave.

*6. The Quiet Loyal One*
She never comments, never hypes online, but she orders every month. She doesn't need noise, she needs consistency. Don't ignore her for the loud clients.

*Bottom line CEO:*
New customers bring cash. Loyal customers build a brand!!🧏🏽‍♀️

*Dear TAILORS , you’re not BROKE, you just haven’t put the right SYSTEMS in place* !!!
👉Here are 5 systems that will help you

*1. Pricing System*
Stop "eye-balling" prices. Have a price list for: gown, skirt, dress, alterations. Add 20% for rush jobs. No more free labor.

*2. Booking + Payment System*
50% deposit before cutting. Balance before delivery. Use WhatsApp broadcast to remind clients 3 days to pickup. No deposit = no fabric touched.

*3. Production System*
Batch your work. Monday = cutting, Tue-Thu = sewing, Fri = fittings. No more jumping from 10 clients at once. You’ll finish faster and take more orders.

*4. Content + Marketing System*
Post 3x a week. 1 tutorial, 1 client fit, 1 behind-the-scenes. Your YouTube + IG are your 24/7 salespeople. No more waiting for referrals.

*5. Client Experience System*
Send measurement pics, progress pics, and pickup message. Happy clients refer 3 more. Broke tailors rely on luck. Rich tailors rely on systems.

*Bottom line*: Talent pays bills. Systems build wealth.

*4 HELPFUL TIPS TO STAY CONSISTENT AS A FASHION DESIGNER*

*1️⃣ BATCH YOUR WORK*
Don’t create + sew + post + market in 1 day. Pick 2 days for content, 3 days for sewing. Systems > motivation. (E.G I haven’t used up my last batch shot videos🤭)

*2️⃣ DOCUMENT, DON’T CREATE*
You’re already sewing. Film it. Post the process. Consistency is 10x easier when you stop “thinking of new ideas.”

*3️⃣ TRACK SMALL WINS*
1 post, 1 fitting, 1 client testimonial = progress. Celebrate it. Momentum keeps you consistent!!

Keep it simple. Show up messy. But show up.

_Save this before your next client_

*1. FRIENDSHIP PRICING*
Charging 15k for a 35k job.
*Fix:* `Cost + Labor + Profit`. Be professional, not cheap.

*2. COPYING OTHER PEOPLE’S PRICES*
You don’t know their expenses.
*Fix:* Price YOUR skill, time, and quality.

*3. FREE FITTINGS & ALTERATIONS*
3 fittings = 6 hours unpaid work.
*Fix:* Charge for extra fittings. `Consultation: 5k`

*4. SAYING YES TO EVERY CLIENT*
10k stress jobs block 100k clients.
*Fix:* Have 3 packages. Not everyone is your client.
