Family is a place, a group of people, that cover our flaws and help us to fly high.

I love how Dr. Habib Sadeghi defines Family in his write up "Perfectly Imperfect: The Hidden Beauty of Family Flaws".

He explains 'No matter how “spiritual” you might be, or how much therapy you’ve gone through, there’s something about going back home that can reduce you to your 16-year-old self in an instant.'

The family should be an environ where you can be yourself, where your difference is appreciated and your flaw is not rubbed on your face.

This is similar to how fashion makes us more beautiful and attractive. Definitely, you won’t be comfortable if your fashion sense isn't as it should be, right?

Therefore, a toxic family is very opposite of what a true family looks like.

The similarities between fashion and family is also in their way of expression.

Fashion is often a tool to express oneself, it's like a voice unspoken and this relates to family in a lot of ways.

The family happens to be the outcome of one's intents, an expression e.g how children are raised by their parents is based on the length of what they know or how they know to do it hence, their children are shaped by their thoughts.

Therefore,

Fashion is a powerful means of self-expression as we feel empowered, confident and more in touch with our inner self.

It's essential to look into the building of good foundations in our families while we also build a more sustainable fashion.
