Muhsin Khan and Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali:
They wish that you should compromise (in religion out of courtesy) with them, so they (too) would compromise with you.

The Quran was sent down by Allah to be a source of guidance to us and seeing stories and/or scenarios similar to our current reality brings such a warm feeling, it’s one of the miracles of the Quran in itself.

We currently live in a society where Muslims are always expected to compromise, non Muslims always and constantly offer the deal of “toning it down” a little for them to give us some form of worldly gain in exchange and Allah knows best a lot of Muslims have unfortunately fallen into this, but going through the Quran and seeing that our most beloved Prophet went through the same thing but remained firm is so comforting, today we can see the reward of his being firm and so it inspires me to be firm that perhaps the most Merciful would grant us huge reward.

Say, “O my servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the most forgiving, the Merciful”.

Its a reminder that no matter how much we have wronged our own souls, Allah is ever willing to bestow his mercy on us. His doors are forever open. He would forgive us as long as we come back.

Say, “Indeed, my Lord extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts [it] for him. But whatever thing you spend [in His cause] - He will compensate it; and He is the best of providers.”

Here goes my favourite verse in wording and meaning.

My relationship with money has always been an ‘Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un’, it came from Allah and goes back to Him, so I conditioned myself never to worry.
Every time I extend my hands for the sake of Allah, I do it with great confidence in the knowledge that my investment with Allāh will yield greatly, bi idniLlah.
It always does, AlhamduliLlāh. Whatever I spend for His sake always come back in multiples and it happens that I realised this before I came across this verse, so when I did I testified to it! Indeed, Allāh is the truth.

I have a lot of favourite verses from the Qur’an, Alhamdulillah. This is the one that resonates the most at present, and here’s why.

I’ve been praying a lot for something, but I haven’t gotten it yet.
Sometime ago, I started to question, “why is this happening to me?”
“Why isn’t Allah answering my Dua?”
“Has Allah forsaken me?”
Then I remembered this verse and I immediately thought, No, he hasn’t. I realized that Allah knows what I know not, and my mind has since been filled with peace.

Lately my favorite verse has been

قَالَ لَا تَخَافَاۤۖ إِنَّنِی مَعَكُمَاۤ أَسۡمَعُ وَأَرَىٰ﴿ ٤٦ ﴾

He said, ‘Do not be afraid, I am with you both, hearing and seeing everything.

Ṭā-Hā, Ayah 46

The meaning of the verse is very self explanatory. Allah says don’t be afraid , He is with you both hearing and seeing everything.

Allah’s hearing and sight isn’t limited like that of Humans . He hears and sees everything . Every chirping of a bird , every leaf that falls , just think of the tiniest or noiseless thing any where in the world , Allah hears and sees it all at the same time .

So why exactly will I be afraid when Allah hears and sees everything that concerns me ?

The meaning of the verse is even more powerful when you read the Tafsir and follow the story surrounding the verse .
Prophet Musa and Harun were ordered by Allah to admonish Firaun the biggest tyrant one can ever think of . Firuan had a very massive army and he was feared .

In the previous verse , They ( Musa and Harun ) tell Allah they are scared of going to Firaun . Allah reassures then by letting them know He is with them . He hears and sees everything and He will protect them.

Whenever you are faced by any challenge, remember Allah is ever present . He is with us and He hears and sees everything and He will protect us at all times .

‘Verily, with every difficulty comes ease’

Life is full of trials and hardships and the promise that within these hardships and trials, there is ease, the ease might be in the people we have around us, the resources Allah has blessed us with or how we even respond to these trials.
