As a crocheter/business owner, you need to get comfortable with saying NO.

And I don't just mean saying no to customers. I mean setting boundaries around how you run your business.

Sometimes we unconsciously or consciously bend so much for customers that we start treating them like they're doing us a favour by buying from us.

And I'm not saying you shouldn't respect your customers, be accommodating or try to reach a compromise. Of course you should.

But business is a transaction.

They are giving you money and you're giving them something they need in return. They're not giving you money for free.

So you don't have to say yes to everything just because you want the sale.
No, I can't take a rush order.
No, I can't do it for that price.
No, I can't make that change after you've already approved the design.
No, I can't deliver earlier than the agreed date.
No, I don't offer that service.
No, I can't start the work without payment.

And that's okay.

You can give your customers good service without bending every single time they ask for something.
Your business needs boundaries too.

Learn to say no when something doesn't work for you. Customers will respect you and take you more seriously when they see that your business has structure.
