Yesterday, I had a great phone call catch up with a childhood friend Mmemshima Sharon Attai
As we settled into the conversation, it was as if time had stood still. We reminisced about growing up as Deeperlife teenagers😅, the endless monitoring and policing 😂by our parents and some very overbearing and overzealous church leaders 🙄. Each memory sparked a cascade of laughter and nostalgia, bridging the physical distance that had separated us for so long.
We laughed at the thought of our youthful escapades and marveled at how much we had both grown since those carefree days.😅
Amidst the banter and shared memories, the call took a poignant turn as we delved into the challenges we had faced growing up at a time where children were forbidden to speak up against bad treatments from adults . Then i remembered a certain ‘Sister’ that literarily told me to my face that she was sure that I will never amount to anything good in life😂. That and many more made me determined to prove all my haters wrong 😂😂
But seriously, how do people feel comfortable in saying such horrid words to children???😳
That brings me to this attached tweet by a renowned, well respected Novelist . It’s sad that his son has been left with such a bad memory of his childhood 🥲
I like the part that the guy tagged his father with his full chest 😂
Please let us be very careful with how we act , what we say or let people say to our children. These memories linger and remain forever in their hearts.
Shallom! 😊
