Before we even talk about maintaining your Adire, the first thing is to make sure you're buying quality Adire—especially when it comes to the texture and the dye.
You may ask, "How do I know quality Adire?" 🤔
Follow this page. I'll be sharing practical tips to help you identify quality Adire. But for today, let's talk about how to maintain it.
1. Don't use harsh soaps.
As in ehn... o wrong 😑. Use mild, fabric-friendly soaps that are not highly concentrated with soda. If you'd like specific brand recommendations, send me a DM.
2. Avoid drying your Adire under the hot blazing sun all the time.
If too much sun isn't good for your skin, what about your fabric? Shey you get? 😄 Dry it in a well-ventilated place whenever possible. And this tip isn't just for Adire—it applies to most of your clothes too.
3. Use starch to keep your Adire looking fresh.
Want your Adire to keep looking almost as new as the day you bought it? Use starch. If you can get the local starch, boommmm... you're good to go! If not, the modern version works too. Just use it in moderation.
4. Iron with confidence.
Ironing doesn't reduce the quality of your Adire. Feel free to iron it as usual, except if the fabric has special prints, embellishments, or delicate design details that require extra care.
