FENTS AND RAGS

Fents and Rags are known as downgrades. That is why You are told from the onset that your Fabric May or may not be complete.

are fabrics produced but that are not complete as 6 yards. Some comes as 4 yards , 3 or 2 yards. Fents comes as a result of fabrics that the Machine missed while printing or which the colours are blurry or faded and it is realised it is not up to the standard that is expected. It is from this fold of 6 yards that comes in such that the Fents are cut off. Fents are the good parts of the fabric that are from 4 yards downward.

are Fabrics that are cut off from Fents. They are the ones that the prints didn't stay well on . The rags are the ones with high printing error or those that are in good condition but are less than 2 yards , maybe half or 1 yard.

Why do We give fents and rags to customers?
Fents and Rags can be useful because sometimes in , the printed fabrics can't go round those You want to sell to, let alone be enough for the family. From fents and Rags , such that children or some minors in the family can use them.

Are they Free?
NO , Fents and Rags are not free. You are directly responsible for it. You pay for it. Once your prints are Ready, You will be charged fully for the complete fabrics and will be given small discount for Fents because they are also good grades but short in folding of 6 yards. Then a larger discount on Rags /Kg because they are very bad , some manageable that are less than 2 yards.
usually don't take the rags

How Much Can fents and rags be ?
You can't Really tell, it is when the Machine prints that it is determined. It is never predetermined but It can be higher in and lower in fabrics. But Prepare in mind that polyesters can give you as short as 80 pieces of 6 yards while cotton products are usually less than 50 pieces but none can still be ascertained until the Print is complete.

Let's Talk Packaging

The picture above shows that the Customer ordered for 5 bale (500 of 6 yards). This product was actually printed within 10 working days 😁🤐 (shhhhh , don't say I told you, yes O'Raybour makes it happen as long as the Terms are met)

The picture shows what is called Bale. This is how Printed Ankara fabrics are packed. The package are usually 100 x 600 / bale. Weight depends of the Quality and Texture of fabric you order to print. Sometimes it may be packed 101 to 105 per bale but it won't exceed what will be delivered unless in certain circumstances.

From the picture above , one of the bale is separated. The separated one is the one that has shortage.

The next question is do we have shortages when printing fabrics?

Shortages are sometimes unavoidable but on rare cases the customers ordered quantity comes in full or with a few excess.

Shortages come as a result of printing error. After the fabrics have been produced in full quantity demanded , it goes through a check where the fabrics that are not well printed are separated , this process of separation is where the downgraded qualities are removed and so the fabrics are short in quantity. This is why sometimes the fabrics are a few piece lesser than ordered and it usually comes with a refund within 10 working days (mind at peace)

In my next post I'll explain the downgraded .
