One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching confidence grow.
Not long ago, I worked with a student who could read fluently but struggled to explain what they had read. Comprehension questions often felt frustrating, and they weren't sure how to find evidence in the text to support their answers.
Instead of rushing through exercises, we slowed down. We practised identifying key ideas, discussing vocabulary in context, and explaining answers step by step.
Gradually, everything began to change.
The student became more confident, answered questions with greater accuracy, and started approaching reading with curiosity instead of fear.
Moments like these remind me that improvement doesn't happen overnight—but with patience, consistency, and the right guidance, it does happen.
Every child can grow when they are taught in a way that meets their needs.
