Ofoekwe Sandra Oluchi was born on the 6th of November 1996 which makes her 25years old. She is from Imo State, born in Port Harcourt . She studied Philosophy at the University of Port Harcourt, and I graduated in March 2018. During the few months wait for NYSC, She worked with a stage effect company that handled weddings, parties and political events. Then she also worked for a start up procurement company for just a few months. In 2019 She started her NYSC in Rivers state and finished the one year service in May 2020.
During her one year service She worked at the Catholic Institute of West Africa(CIWA) but her stay was cut short due to the pandemic. After NYSC, due to the pandemic securing a job was quite challenging, so she decided to start up a business. It all started as a joke at first because she was just trying out things she could and couldn’t do. So she learned foot wear making for a few months, at first, it was for her personal use but then she decided to sell them and make profit out of it and it turned out to be something big. Due to the limited supplies in Port Harcourt, it was becoming difficult to handle some orders and specific designs, So she paused making slippers. Another reason for stopping was because it became too physically exhausting, the dusts from filing of slippers became a health hazard, so she paused in making it herself and hired an employee to produce for her while she markets them.
She needed to do something else with her hands to keep her busy, and decided to go to a crafts school which turn out to be too pricey. Thanks to technology she decided to use YouTube to learn and that’s how the box making came about, she learnt how to make gift boxes in her room and posted them for fun and instantly she got orders to make a few more, and my business kicked off.
