That was when my mind started whispering:
“Something isn’t right.”
I asked where exactly we were going.
Ade laughed immediately.
“Relax na. You dey fear?”
The others laughed too.
But it didn’t sound normal.
It sounded forced.
Cold fear slowly entered my chest.
We finally stopped near an uncompleted building.
No music.
No party.
No people.
Just silence.
My heartbeat changed instantly.
I turned to Ade.
“Guy… where’s the hangout?”
Nobody answered.
Then Jones said quietly:
“Collect his phone first.”
The moment I heard that sentence, my body froze.
For a few seconds, I couldn’t even process what was happening.
My own friends?
People I ate with?
Played football with?
People that entered my house before?
Suddenly, Precious brought out a knife.
A real knife.
Not movie stuff. Real life.
My legs became weak.
Ade moved closer and lowered his voice.
“John, cooperate and nothing go happen.”
That was when I realized…
This wasn’t random.
They planned it.
Everything.
The invitation.
The fake hangout.
The lonely location.
All planned.
I handed them my phone immediately.
But it didn’t stop there.
Jones suddenly asked:
“Sure say nobody know where you dey?”
The moment he said that, something clicked in my head.
Esther.
My sister knew everything.
And somehow, maybe fear gave me boldness.
I looked directly at Ade and said:
“My sister has all your details already. Your full name, address, number… everything.”
Silence.
Real silence.
Their faces changed immediately.
Ade’s confidence disappeared.
“What?”
I repeated it slowly.
“If I don’t get home tonight, police will come to your house first.”
Nobody spoke for a few seconds.
You could literally feel panic entering the atmosphere.
Jones cursed loudly.
Precious stepped back immediately.
Wait for the end🥹
