Not every color works for everyone. It can be rather frustrating, but just because plum doesn’t work for you doesn’t mean that other colors wouldn’t. There is a wide array of different styles in different colors and shades in men’s fashion. So, whether you are dark-, medium-, or light-skinned, here is how to choose the right colors that will flatter and look good with your skin tone:
For dark skin tones
Men with dark skin often also have dark hair and eyes. In this case, men’s fashion dictates that gray, khaki, white, baby blue, and pink would look best in contrast to the dark features. Also, keep in mind to avoid as much as possible clothes in tropical colors and dark shades.
For medium skin tones
Since men with this skin tone can have varying features, they can wear almost any color and still look good in it. Matching the shirt color with the eyes is always a good move; however, these men would look best in burgundy, royal blue, navy, black and beige. Just remember to avoid colors that might be too close to the skin tone.
For pale skin tones
Often having fair features, light-skinned men should know that the best option is subdued colors like brown, off-white, beige, and light and bold blue. Simply stay away from clothes with bright colors to avoid looking washed out.
Not everything looks good on everyone, but as long as you remember these guidelines, you can avoid committing a fashion faux pas.
