Congratulations to Chef Hilda Baci!
Chef Hilda Baci has once again proven that she is a true star! Yesterday, she successfully cooked the largest pot of Jollof riceāa remarkable achievement that has placed Nigeria above Ghana in the jollof rivalry. And guess what? Despite being cooked in such a massive pot, the rice still tasted absolutely delicious! š
Hilda is a goal-getter, and I deeply admire her spirit. This is her second world record, and it has not only brought her global recognition but also opened doors of opportunities. She turned her own idea into reality and built herself into a starāthis uniqueness is what sets her apart as a chef.
From what I observed yesterday, and from her earlier cook-a-thon, she is a woman of incredible strength and resilience. Records like this donāt happen overnight.
According to Hilda:
⢠It took 9 months of careful planning to bring this vision to life.
⢠The giant pot was specially fabricated over 2 months.
⢠The jollof rice itself took 9 hours of preparation and cooking.
⢠The project required milliöns of nÔira in investment, with her sponsor Gino making a wise and impactful contribution.
By around 2am, the rice was fully cooked and carefully transferred into coolers, ready to serve thousands of people.
Of course, not everyone was supportive. I saw some negative comments online from people who have never achieved anything significant, yet were quick to criticize. Some claimed the rice wasnāt washed, without doing any proper findings. But in reality, the rice was thoroughly washed with hot water, dried, and re-bagged before cooking. Others said the rice wasnāt soft, even though most of them never tasted it.
One comment that stood out to me was: āWhy is she taking all the glory when sheās not the only one who cooked the rice?ā What people fail to understand is that while many hands may have helped, the vision, idea, and direction came from Hilda and thatās why she deserves the recognition.
Hilda truly deserves her flowe
