One of the determining factors of dressing well is your environment; 'environment' means the place you spend most of your time. People in the corporate world tend to wear many suits in specific colours, while those in tech often wear more relaxed or casual outfits.

Before we start sharing tips, we have to talk about something really important: most men don't dress well because of psychological views. Simply put, most men don't dress well because they have been told all their lives that a man shouldn't care about how he looks, or that a man shouldn't put effort into his appearance.

Well, they lied to you! From ancient times, men did care about how they looked; that was how they could differentiate between men of high status and low status. It's how they communicated superiority.

So the first thing we have to get rid of is the mentality that men shouldn't put effort into how they look. It's not "gay" to put effort into looking good; rather, it's a sign of respect for yourself and for others at large.

Before I started making men's wear, I spent a lot of time in men's image consultation and styling. One thing I learned was that every man cares about how he appears, but many shy away from admitting it. They worry it would make them look vain, or often, they simply don't know what to do and that in itself is frustrating.

The key to looking good is simply not overthinking the idea of it. Over the next couple of days, I'll be sharing some tips on how you can develop your style and always look your best.
