Today, like every other day, I opened my social media pages to talk about my business, to tell people what I do, and to show up for my dreams.
Then I came across this audio.
For some reason, it brought tears to my eyes.
It reminded me of home. And the moment it reminded me of home, it reminded me of my dad.
My dad is no longer here.
It’s a feeling that is difficult to explain and even harder to understand unless you’ve experienced it. Sometimes a sound, a voice, or a simple memory can open a door to emotions you didn’t even realize you were carrying.
If you’re coming across this post, please say a short du’a for my dad.
May Allah grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah accept him among His beloved servants. May Allah accept all his acts of worship and forgive his shortcomings.
Every good thing, every fruit of labour he was unable to reap in this dunya, may Allah make it a source of ongoing reward for him in his grave and on the Day of Reckoning.
And for my mother, may Allah grant her long life in sound health, barakah, and happiness. May she live to reap the fruits of her labour. May Allah bless us with abundant rizq so we can take good care of her.
May Allah make our children a source of joy and blessings for us, and make us a source of blessings for them.
May Allah unite us with our loved ones in Jannah Ameen.
As I reflected on my dad today, I found myself thinking about legacy, not just what we leave behind, but what we carry forward.
Some things never truly leave us.
The voices we heard growing up. The values our parents taught us. The memories that quietly shape who we become.
For me, modesty is one of those things.
It’s more than clothing. It’s worship, It’s a value, a way of life, and one of the many beautiful things passed from one generation to another.
Perhaps that is one of the reasons Hawla Modest Fashion means so much to me. It is not just about garments only, it is about preserving and honouring values that outlive us.
May Allah grant our parents the best in this life and the next, and make us a source of ongoing goodness long after we are gone.
Ameen.
