On today’s throwback. We throwing it back to 2022. We taking it back to the roots on Today’s Africa Day celebration. We celebrating the spirit of Africa in our African Attire. Specifically the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. The region that has bountiful provided Nigeria with its cherished crude oil. Our Niger Delta Muses today are and . They’re styled in the native Urhobo attire with a modernised twist. This is a modernist interpretation of the Etibo (Male Shirt) and Wrapper outfit. This Etibo style is a unique patterned shirt designed to go on top of the wrapper after the wrapper is tied in a form of pleats. Tying of this wrapper in itself is the style. You have to get someone who’s schooled in the art of wrapper tying. Wow, some people now sew the wrapper into a skirt like form but the traditional way was someone helped you tie it, back in the days it was the wife or sister that ties it for the man but now there’s professional/vocational wrapper tying businesses. It’s the traditional/native attire prevalent in the Niger Delta Region. In Delta state it’s from those in Delta Central and Delta South senatorial districts of Delta State Nigeria.
