Coughing just a few days after a C-section can be painful, but don't try to hold it in.

🤍 Hold a pillow firmly over your incision before you cough to support your tummy.
🤍 Stay hydrated and take your prescribed pain medication as directed.
🤍 Take slow, deep breaths and go for short, gentle walks to keep your lungs healthy.

🚨 Contact your doctor immediately if you have a fever, difficulty breathing, cough up blood, or notice increasing redness, swelling, pus, or your incision starts to open.

Healing takes time. Be gentle with yourself, Mama. 💕

What did nobody tell you to pack in your hospital bag specifically FOR a C-section recovery?

I'd rather sing than have a 6th C-section. 🎤😂

Forget whether I know the lyrics or not. Hand me the microphone. I will sing with confidence, passion, and plenty of soh soh doh if I have to. 😭🤣

To every mama who's had multiple C-sections, you deserve an award because the courage it takes is on another level! ❤️

Now tell me... what song are you singing first? 😂👇

My Dear C-Section Mama, this is your sign to check in with your doctor if something feels off. ❤️

Not every pain is "just part of healing." While some discomfort is expected after a C-section, certain symptoms should never be ignored.

🚨 Watch out for these warning signs:

1. Persistent or worsening pain instead of gradual improvement.
2. Redness, swelling, warmth, or pus around your incision.
3. A fever above 38°C (100.4°F) or chills.
4. Heavy vaginal bleeding or passing large blood clots.
5. A foul-smelling vaginal discharge or discharge from your incision.
6. Severe pain or swelling in one leg, especially if it's warm to the touch.
7. Chest pain or difficulty breathing—seek emergency care immediately.
8. Your incision opens up or starts bleeding.
9. Painful urination or difficulty emptying your bladder.
10. You simply feel that something isn't right.

✨ Never let anyone make you feel like you're overreacting. You know your body better than anyone else. If something feels unusual, contact your healthcare provider as soon as possible. Early care can prevent more serious complications.

What does a world that truly supports C-section mamas look like to you?

Imagine a world where a C-section scar is seen as a symbol of strength, not something to hide.

A world where mothers are encouraged to rest without guilt.

A world where partners, families, employers, and healthcare providers understand that C-section recovery is major surgery and deserves compassion, patience, and practical support.

A world where no mother is told, "At least the baby is fine," while her own pain is overlooked.

A world where every C-section mama feels seen, heard, respected, and celebrated—not just for bringing a baby into the world, but for everything she endures to do so.

At Beautifully Pregnant Maternity , we're committed to building that world, one conversation, one story, and one supported mama at a time.

Elective C-section is not the same as an Emergency C-section.

They may end with the same beautiful baby in your arms, but the journey to get there can be completely different.

An elective C-section is usually planned. You have time to prepare mentally, ask questions, and walk into the operating room knowing what to expect.

An emergency C-section often happens unexpectedly. It can be filled with fear, urgency, and emotions you never saw coming.

Neither experience is "better" than the other. Both require courage. Both deserve compassion. Both produce incredibly strong mothers.

💗 If you've experienced both, you understand just how different they truly are.

👇 Which was your experience?
❤️ Elective
💙 Emergency
💜 Both

Let's support one another in the comments. Your story could encourage another C-section mama today.
