Many people associate uterine rupture only with vaginal birth after a previous C-section, but in rare cases, it can also occur during labor for other reasons, including prolonged obstructed labor.

In this video, a doctor shares the experience of caring for a woman who had been in prolonged labor with a traditional birth attendant before being transferred to the hospital. Sadly, her baby did not survive. During emergency surgery, the medical team found that her uterus had ruptured. To save her life, they had to remove her uterus.

Although this was a heartbreaking outcome, the mother survived because she received emergency medical care. This is why prolonged labor requires prompt assessment and management by skilled healthcare professionals. Early access to appropriate obstetric care can make a critical difference for both mother and baby.

Your C-section scar may look healed after about 6 weeks, but that's only the beginning of your body's healing journey.

Beneath the skin, several layers of tissue, muscles, and your uterus are still recovering. This internal healing can continue for months, even when everything looks fine on the outside.

So if you still feel sore, tire easily, or don't feel completely "back to normal," remember that healing is not a race. Your body has gone through major surgery while also bringing a beautiful baby into the world.

Be gentle with yourself. Rest whenever you can, nourish your body with healthy food, follow your doctor's recovery instructions, and don't compare your journey to anyone else's.

One day at a time, mama. Your body is healing, even when you can't see it. ❤️

Very painful, I can relate. The pain can be excruciating, I cried with my fifth baby because it got infected and I had to use a breast pump to extract milk while treating the sores till it healed and she went back to sucking. That baby is ten years old today.
