Honored Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen —
Good afternoon.
It is a great honor to be welcomed here at Asaba Specialist Hospital today on behalf of the Oakland Medical Foundation — an organization committed to one purpose: saving lives by bringing free treatment and care to underserved communities.
This afternoon, we are privileged to take another step toward that purpose, right here in Asaba.
Why This Matters
The need before us is real and urgent.
20 million Nigerians are estimated to be living with chronic kidney disease.
Only 2% of those with end-stage kidney failure receive dialysis.
A single month of treatment can cost between ₦150,000 and ₦250,000 — more than double the national minimum wage.
For most families, that figure is simply impossible. Not difficult — impossible. And so, without intervention, people die from an entirely treatable condition.
What We Are Doing
Today, Oakland Medical Foundation formally presents one dialysis machine to Asaba Specialist Hospital.
In practical terms, this machine can deliver 600 to 800 treatment sessions annually — each session representing a life extended, a family kept whole, and a patient given hope.
We chose this institution for its dedicated staff and its vital role in serving the people of Asaba and the Delta State community. We are confident this equipment is in the right hands.
Our Commitment
We do not see this as a one-time gesture. We see it as the beginning of a partnership — one rooted in shared values of compassion, service, and dignity for every patient. This has been the vision of OMF Founder/Chairman, Dr. Richard Keshi, who is also a son of this kingdom.
To the management and staff of Asaba Specialist Hospital, thank you for your tireless work every day. To the patients, this machine will serve — you are the reason we came.
It is our sincere prayer that this machine runs faithfully, serves generously, and reminds all who encounter it that no life is too small to fight for.
On behalf of the Chairman/Founder of OMF, Dr. Richard E. Keshi. We say, "Thank you, and may God Bless You." Amen.
