Neat finishing tips
Cutting is important⊠but sewing is equally powerful.
You can cut a perfect style, but if the sewing is rough, loose, or poorly finished, the whole outfit will look faulty.
So if you want your work to stand out, donât only focus on cutting, focus on sewing excellence too.
Here are simple tips for clean, professional sewing:
1. Press as you sew
Iron every stage : shoulder, darts, seam lines. It makes your work look neat and professional.
2. Use the right needle size
Thin fabrics need thin needles; thick fabrics need stronger needles.
3. Match your thread to your fabric
Wrong thread can cause breaking, puckering, or rough finishing.
4. Maintain straight stitching
Use the machine guide to keep your lines straight.
5. Finish your edges properly
Overlock/serge raw edges or use zig-zag stitches to prevent fraying.
6. Donât rush
Rushing causes mistakes. Sew with steady speed.
7. Check your tension settings
Wrong tension makes stitches too tight or too loose.
8. Secure your stitches
Backstitch at the beginning and end of each seam to prevent opening.
9. Trim threads immediately
Loose threads make your work look untidy.
10. Test on a scrap fabric first
Always test your stitch length, tension, and needle before sewing the main fabric.
