Did you know all of my bags are named after birds? 🕊️

It all started with Swallow — one of my very first designs (and now our logo!). The gold clasp was inspired by the shape of a swallow’s head, and the soft curves of the wings flow into the side panels. A little bird in bag form.

Then came Nightjar, my embossed bucket bag — moody, textured, and full of quiet confidence.

And of course Wren, designed right here in Amsterdam. I needed a bag that could keep up with me while cycling through the city — something that sits perfectly, feels effortless, and still looks beautiful.

Every bag I design has a purpose. It has to work for real life… but make it chic.

How It All Started

After more than 20 years designing footwear and accessories for brands and factories around the world, life shifted when I started my family. I felt a strong desire to create something more meaningful — a brand that wouldn’t take from the environment, but instead give back to it.

I wanted to give nature a voice.

A brand made from sustainable materials. A brand inspired by nature.

In 2022, I launched Jo Heath — beginning at design markets, then hosting pop-up shops, and meeting so many incredible designers and beautiful customers along the way.

That journey gave me the courage to take the next big step. At the end of 2025, I opened my very own shop.

What a journey it has been — and I truly couldn’t have done it without you.

Clemi, my chocolate Labrador, insists on coming everywhere with me — so of course she had to come to the shop! She’s now officially our little mascot, demanding constant belly rubs and happily posing for endless photos and videos.
Clemi is an absolute pro and the perfect shop assistant 🤎

So excited to be working on a new collection using leftover leathers ✨
I became aware that there are warehouses full of stunning leathers that are no longer wanted — and I knew they deserved a second life.
I couldn’t help myself… a new range is coming, launching in April.
I’ll be sharing the journey here very soon. Also had some fun in the process 🤍
