STORY

Sometimes the best stories have humble beginnings. What Alfredo Gonzales lacked in height he made up for in determination, and facial hair. Tequila, BBQ, and home made ci**rs, his father gave Alfredo everything he had, which wasn’t much.

He won a hundred pesos and a donkey in a drinking contest which was enough to get him out of Zacatecas. He didn’t know where he was going but when he plodded into New york he knew he was there. He swapped his sombrero for a baseball cap and his donkey for a skateboard and landed himself a job in a sock factory. He had no money for new socks so he customized socks from the factory with buttons he found on the busy New York streets.

Alfredo’s socks got a lot more attention than his skating. He skated his socks through New York and then Malibu, the hairy little Mexican who smoked like a chimney and drank like a fish. In search of new adventures Alfredo Gonzales got on his skateboard and headed for Europe.

Th Company Arthouse was founded 1998 in an old trashy garage somewhere in Bavaria/South Germany. The first years we were wholesalers for fashion accessories, until we decided to go our own way.

In 2003 the first "CHILLOUTS" Head Gear collection was born: Bandits, CocoCaps, Flex- and Trucker Caps for summer and a nice Beanie collection for winter season. The reaction was overwhelming, so we decided to do the next step. A new building (big, beautiful and warm even in winter!) gave us good vibrations to create more and more product lines.

At the moment we offer about 250 different winter styles and a brand new top stylish summer collection. And now as we write the year 2012, we spread our wings all over europe with individual local distributions and - this is not the end of the story!
