I’ve been around this plant long enough to remember smells you just don’t run into anymore.
Old skunks. Afghan lines other cutty unknown strains that disappeared, got watered down, or never made it into the modern market.
When it comes to smoke quality, flavor starts with aroma and, for many reasons, often correlates with effects. Sometimes, one whiff of a strain’s profile will take me back years to a grow room, a harvest, a conversation, or a moment in my cannabis history somewhere in the world.
The crazy part is, those experiences stay with you.
So when I’m hunting phenos or working with new genetics, I’m not just smelling what’s in front of me. I’m pulling from thousands of memories and reference points collected over a lifetime with this plant.
