Announcement about the online masterclass bias cut in English, for fashion-makers who want to learn the technique of creating garments in the bias.
The masterclass consists of 11 practical videos where you will make a bias cut dress where techniques are used typical for bias cut.
You ll learn how to sew it the right way, and how to create pattern suitable for a bias cut model.

Next to the practical side, there are 4 extra chapters about the theoretical part and fashion history where you will be able to understand how certain models by famous designers are made, and more importantly maybe, that you ll be able to apply it to your own work.
The masterclass is also available in Dutch.

Part of the masterclass is the access to the page to meet the other participants to exchange experiences.

Fashion fades but style is eternal. This quote of Yves Saint Laurent certainly holds true, but nothing wrong with updating a classic with modern materials. The off shoulder top with an open back is made in jersey is draped like has been done in haute couture many times, but rarely in T-shirt fabric made of Tencel. Then paired with a skirt in blue neoprene. Stiff enough so it needs no petticoat to stand out.
A fresh take on a look reminiscent of the style of the 1950’s.

Sensuality has always been the domain of women, or at least, that’s what society tells us.
We now live in a time where these rules are challenged again and fabrics that were called ‘feminin’ are now used for menswear, creating a fluid look in more than one sense of the word. This oversized silk shirt is inspired by the way the Samurai soldiers wore their clothes: a loose fit wrapped and tucked in place.
The drape of this hammered satin is so liquid, it almost feels like wearing a sheet of custard sliding over the body. It takes very experienced hands to work these kind of fabrics, so it quite exclusive. Sensual luxury to the max!

The bridal coat Sakura in action, flying over the catwalk during the show at Fashion Week El Paseo. I asked the model to work the airy flow of the material, and she went for it!
Thanks to photographer Tiffany Clark this beautiful moment was caught on camera!
This design is inspired by Sakura, Japan’s symbol of spring with the wonderful cherry blossom trees.
The organza coat is embroidered with handmade silk flowers made by Lana Semanova, Swarovski crystals, sequins and silver lurex branches, this piece took about 600 hours to create. Normally embroidery makes a garment heavy, but I wanted the coat to fly, like blossoms dancing in the wind.
And fly they did!

The U.S. runway debut of Amsterdam-based designer Leon Klaassen Bos featured a symphony of jewel tones and textures in “Sensual Rhapsody.”…
