Yesterday an article about my exhibition in Diario de Ibiza 😃 When I was diagnosed with cancer almost one year ago, me, my family and my friends fell into a deep, dark hole of fear and insecurity. It was Sol Kara, who unfortunately had to leave us, who brought me in contact with the Asociación Ibiza & Formentera contra el cáncer. Many times I spoke with the lovely Berno. A woman who advised me in awful situations, and helped connecting me with Pam, who translated all difficult conversations in hospital Can Misses for me. I am extremely grateful for the things the association has done for me. Therefor I like to donate part of my profits to this organisation and support the great work they are doing for all patients in Ibiza and Fomentera.

This photo. One of the highlights of my exhibition. The hat I am wearing has a story. I created it in the days before my surgery. When the operation suddenly was postponed for 3 weeks, I stepped into the darkest period of my process. It felt like the sword of Damocles. I isolated myself completely and started eating unhealthy, did not exercise anymore and even found myself drinking and taking more medicines then needed. That day before I went to the hospital my dear friends Boudewien and Dadara were there to support me. Months later I found this little drawing Daniel made for me. On the left you see me wearing the hat. On the other side Daniel trying to hold me, but he is not able to reach me. The word is out. Exactly one year after I got diagnosed with o***y cancer, I am now going to present both my new collection hats and photos of my process. After my recovery, I felt I wanted to tell my story. All what happened in only eight months has been documented by mostly Claire van der Poel, Ottily Maters and myself. A story about severe illness, struggling, accepting and blooming again. Including my personal highlight in between the fifth and sixth chemo; the photoshoot with Dadara, Claire and Ot, who helped me transforming my body into a piece of art. This is how I got to accept my new body, seeing a beautiful woman again instead of a sick patient.
Also the hats tell their story. Designed before, during and after my healing process.
The exhibition will be held in one of the most romantic places of Ibiza, Atzaro’s Aubergine. Hope to see you all there, the 3rd of August

OMG. Goosebumps. Going through my photos in order to make a selection for my exhibition. This picture, this woman on the right. Is that woman really me? Only 8 months ago!! I cannot believe it. So much can happen in only one year. Looks like I was dying, for real. But I am not! I am still here and here to stay. And I'm feeling better then ever before ❤️ incredibly grateful, thank you universe 🙏🏻🤸‍♀️🌞🎩🍄🌺
