Myrobalan is rich in tannins, which makes it a natural mordant, it helps dye bind to fabric together.
When used on fabrics, color last longer,shades become deeper and rich and dye uptake becomes more even, especially important for plant fibers like Cotton,Linen and H**p.
It works well with indigo to give a richer greenish or deeper blues, with madder to give a warmer reds and orange and with iron to give greys, olives, muted tones.
