DforDance has gone bankrupt. 💔
Dear all, a month ago, the unimaginable happened; DforDance was declared bankrupt by the court.

And I am devastated. This brand began because my mother found the dance clothing my sister and I wore to be outdated and boring. Before I knew it, I was building a brand in the evenings with my own mother. However, fate struck, and my mother, too young, fell terminally ill. On her deathbed, I promised her to make DforDance a success, and Ruud and I, as partners, embarked on the DforDance adventure.

It became a great success; we started with a few cardboard boxes, conquered the Netherlands and Belgium, earned a 9.4 in reviews, sold worldwide from Finland to America and Hong Kong. The last year was crazy in a good way. I work 7 days a week all because the amazing Chantal Janzen wore our sweater. That truly changed my life around and made me have a little faith in DforDance.

But the grand success I promised my mother has come to an end. Earlier this year, we were scammed, and with the current economic developments, that blow was one we never recovered from, no matter how hard we fought.

And now?
I don't know. I am shattered. This company was not just a business; it was my baby, my life's work. But I knew what I was doing it for; your photos, your love, your messages; that was my motivation.

My goal was always to create a brand that really puts a smile on your face. And knowing that we might did a little more than 'just putting a smile on your face' is the most beautiful feeling ever. Some customers became friends, and I always saw you as my extended family.

I will never forget that. Your pride and involvement. So yes, I will miss you. In fact, I miss you already.

It wasn't meant to be, but I still enjoyed it despite the prevailing sadness. I'm so sorry I couldn't do more.

I want to thank you for all your love and involvement. I believe in you and will always be your personal cheerleader. Keep dancing!

As a woman from the South of the Netherlands, it's surreal to think that dancers from as far away as Texas, New York, Porto, Latvia, and even the northernmost point of Finland are wearing DforDance designs. The feeling of people worldwide choosing my creations is indescribable. While it may seem like orders from 'far away' are more special (and they area super special), I personally find this particular order to be one of the VERY SPECIAL ONES. Why? Because the woman who purchased this beautiful set lives just one street away from me. Really; just one street. Given that we have only one supermarket in our neighborhood—even though we're in Eindhoven—the chances of us bumping into each other on a lazy Sunday morning are quite high. And let's be honest, I'm not a morning person; you'll likely find me in oversized sweatpants and smudged mascara.

Five and a half years ago, Ruud and I started DforDance at our kitchen table. I was juggling a part-time job working with kids with autism and ADHD, while Ruud supported me in every free minute he had. We've been through it all—from a tiny stockroom in a Shurgard box to our very first office, and then an even bigger one with an in-house production facility, photo studio, chill room, and stockroom.

We've had our highs—like the moment Chantal Janzen wore our 'I don't squat, I plié' sweater and we exploded in popularity. And we've had our lows—like getting scammed by our production partner, losing over a thousand pieces, and emptying our bank account. But we fought back. We had to. Not just for us, but for our little family—Ruud, Xena, our dog, and me.

That's why our latest collection, 'Raising the Barre,' is so personal to me. We're taking a leap of faith by partnering with Ergon, a social workplace that aligns with our values. We're revamping our webshop to let our products shine. And we're committed to raising our customer satisfaction score from a 9.4 to a perfect 10.
