Album Highlight: BUSHMAN BODEGA
Daniel Son x Futurewave (2024)

An album from 2024 by Canada’s own duo of coveted underground rapper Daniel Son and producer Futurewave.
Futurewave brings his signature hard hitting grimey samples and drums, while Daniel Son complements this with his aggressive and punchline heavy bars.

More than enough quotables on this project from the track “Stone Cold”, “No Man’s Land” to “Musashi”.
There are just too many to pick from.

The project gets an assist from 5 features.
Consisting of well-respected underground rappers like:
Estee Nack, Rome Streetz, Al.Divino and fellow Canadians 36 Cypher & Raz Fresco

One of my personal favourites from the extensive catalogue of Daniel Son x Futurewave collabs with amazing beats and a crazy rap performance.

This 4-track tape from The Alchemist includes a loaded list of quality rappers.
Who each bring their own signature style to form an amazing project from start to finish.
From the highly anticipated collab on ‘Nobles’ between Earl Sweatshirt and Navy Blue, to an unlikely collaboration between Sideshow and Boldy James.

This tape contains amazing world building instrumentals from Al complimented by an A-game pen by all the rappers.
In 10 minutes and 21 seconds you are taken on a journey where struggles are discussed, emotions are expressed and grief is poetically described.

Its always a joy coming back to this short album.
Eventhough you know what to expect, it never grows old.
A timeless classic.

Military Camo & Army Fatigues
A style adopted for ages in Hip-hop Fashion & Streetwear
Representing resistance and toughness.
Yet durable pieces of clothing which will withstand
Street corners and the test of time.

Of course made for military purposes these pieces would often end up at local Goodwills and other secondhand stores.
Adopted by a counter culture and became a symbol within several subcultures among Hip-hop.

You can still see the influences in current Streetwear.
From the M-1 Bomber to the plain white tee or tanktop.

Military fatigues and camo have their subtle yet ironic impact in fashion.
