Today I'm beginning a new series of music sessions at The Discovery Centre, a Recovery College based at Langdon Psychiatric hospital. I've run quite a few sessions there before and absolutely love it, but haven't been there yet this year. I'm so looking forward to going in again.
I'd really like to acknowledge at this point the incredible generosity of 2 friends - Mark Wilson of PanStream Handpans and Richard Bowring from Sounds Inspiring. Mark has gifted me several of his handpans over the past couple of years to use in sessions like this one, including this new beautiful stainless F2 Pygmy in the picture. Richard makes beautiful stands for handpans - the absolute best on the market in my opinion - and made me the ones that I gig with. At the HangOut UK festival this year I lost one of these stands and was absolutely gutted. When Richard found out about this he gave me the lovely stand in the picture - a prototype for playing bottom notes easier. After the festival ended my lost stand was found, but Richard said to hang onto the one that he had gifted me to use in my sessions. Great guys and genuine friends. Thankyou both so much.
