Alu weave 03

ECHO - from residue to form

What happens when we start to play with aluminium, pattern and weaving?
For Echo, I used aluminium tubes as an integrated weaving material, transforming discarded aluminium through color and pattern, and merging rigidity with tactility.

Resulting in a series of three woven aluminium objects.

Work in progress of my new work made for .unified during .utrecht.design !

ECHO is a group exhibition, bringing together 14 designers, all working with aluminium from local industry partner Nedal Aluminium.

In my new work I’m using aluminium tubes as an integrated weaving material, transforming discarded aluminium through color and pattern, and merging rigidity with tactility.

Some of this week’s textile experiments!
Combining different printing techniques to create textile studies that help HKU Fashion students integrate multiple techniques into their textile explorations. The aim is to encourage them to generate as many variations as possible, as the most interesting outcomes often emerge where they’re least expected. “Failure” is usually where the work becomes truly interesting… 🫶🏼🥰

Studio Wantia is a design studio focusing on graphic and playful patterns. I have a true love for color and patterns. ✨I see pattern as more than just a flat surface, it’s a design method that brings surroundings and objects to life. Through a hands-on practice I’m developing prints as a cross-disciplinary form connecting different fields of design. I believe the start of something new is not accomplished by the mind, but by acts of playful intuition. By playing with material, color and shape across graphic visuals, objects, arts and spatial experiences, new perspectives become tangible. 🌸
