🚨Important Announcement🚨

Dear swappers 💃🏼

First of all, thank you all for coming to the third swap edition! 🤩

Everytime it feels magical to see all the happy faces of people roaming through the boutique, finding their happiness and leaving with nice clothes. 👗👖🧥🧣

3 years ago it was just an idea and I would never have thought it would become such a succes! 🤩

I am very grateful for that ♥️

However… some of you might already know that I moved to Wallonia (Belgium) last summer. 🇧🇪

Although I still organized the third edition, I noticed that it is actually not really feasible logistically. And the thought of organizing a clothing swap 300 km’s away, while I could also do it in my current hometown is also a bit crazy (and not that sustainable 🙈🌱).

That’s why, after a very looooong period of rumination and undecisiveness, I finally decided to no longer personally organize clothing swaps in Wageningen. I will try to set it up in Belgium instead, and try to ignite the swapping revolution over here 💪.

At the same time, stopping my swapping activities in Wageningen really makes me sad, as it took me a lot of effort to build up the community in Wageningen, and create all the right connections to enable the clothing swap to take place… 😢

That’s why I decided to give someone, or a group of people the opportunity to take over a part of The Closet Swap. This consists of the brand name and logo, the Instagram and page including the great community of swappers I have assembled over the years, the right connections within the city of Wageningen that will support you in the organization of the events and tips and tricks from me on how to organize a public clothing swap. 😍

So if you are a student, a citizen of Wageningen or an association related to environmental or social entrepreneurship, don’t hesitate to contact me by sending me a dm! I would love to see that someone would take over my baby in Wageningen ♥️

PS: Are you also wondering why it is so warm for this time of the year? I am… and honestly, it freaks me out. But at the same time it really stimulates me to work even harder on sustainable projects and reduce our impact on the evironment as much as possible (e.g. only buying awesome second-hand clothes, duh 😜). I’ve been a bit absent lately on the gram. My life has been turned upside down with many different exciting changes! 🥳 Everything is now settling down and I have started working again on the organisation of the 3rd edition of The Closet Swap. I’m aiming for October now and I’ll keep you posted!

Good things take time… 🌱

Dear swappers,

Unfortunately I have to annouce that the clothes swap planned on the 21 & 22 of June will be postponed to after the summer break.

This event takes lots of time to prepare (in the right way), which I sadly did not have due to personal circumstances.

To be able to give you the best experience possible, I thus decided to organize it at a later moment. 🤗

Call to action! 💪🔥

Almost three years ago I got the idea to create The Closet Swap after participating in a summerschool. ☀️🙌

My head was overflowing with ideas and my enthusiasm was reaching its peak 🔥💡

Nevertheless… some thoughts were haunting me and holding me back from actually organizing my first event…

- What if nobody will come?
- What if something goes wrong and people will judge me for that?
- There are already second-hand stores in Wageningen, maybe nobody is waiting for a swap event?

After 1,5 years, I finally took a deep dive and decided to find the answers to these questions by actually trying it out!

Yes, MANY things went wrong… 🙈And many unexpected problems arose while setting this up… but it still was a success and people really liked the concept!

Looking back, It was one of the most insightful and learnful experiences during my studies. Learning by doing is truely the best way to make progress. Including lots of failures, because those are the best opportunities to improve yourself!

I don’t know how far I will get with The Closet Swap. What I do know is that all the experience I got and things I learned can be easily applied on other projects I will be working on in the future 😁

So, do you have an idea you have been thinking about for a period of time? My advice: Try it out and go for it! 🙌 Plenty of people are eager to help you, like the people from , binnenstadwageningen and WageningenDOET.

In the end, I think I would rather think back at all the things I might have failed (and learned from), instead of regretting all the things I never tried out! 🙌

Have fun and enjoy the ride, including all the ups and downs. That’s what makes life exciting 🤩

I’ve a bit absent lately, working hard on my final deliverables before graduating coming month…🤓
