My husband invented the ‘Frogs & Bears'” name and I like how it sounds. I can spend another half year trying to be smart and fit some concept into it, but I won’t. What is your target market? People who like to have the things I make for themselves and give them as presents to others. You either like it or not. Who am I to decide if you are a good demographic to own them? What is your specialty? E
h… depends on the mood, season, light, food – whatever. You wake up and think – brrr, it is so cold – perfect timing to knit a cowl. Or you walk in the park, see the play of light and shade and think – I am making tatted earrings inspired by this light. There are so many interesting things to do – how can I choose? And how don’t you get bored by sewing same dress over and over again? Not for me. What is your pricepoint? Well, I am not Primark, but I am also not Dior. Do I make things that cost 500 euros? Hell ya. The time spent, the skill gone into it, uniqness of the piece – it will be a crime to charge less. Can you find presents for a birthday party worth 10 euros as well? Absolutely. Why not? Simple things can bring as much happiness as the most complex creations. It is not the price that matters, it is if the thing you see makes your heart beat faster. Do you use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. regularly to promote your brand? To tell the truth, I was always amazed how people can find so many things to share. Posting several times a day, sharing different content on different media… Though I am not old, I am also no child of the digital age. I like the advantages modern media provides us with, but I do prefer the real world. And I will use any opportunity to create something or get inspired rather than write 150 meaningless words so that people don’t forget I exist. So what makes you different from the rest? I frankly don’t know. And I don’t spend my time analysing what other people are busy with and where I fit in. Of course I see what is happening around me and if wooden jewelry has become a trend – bingo! – as I love wooden jewelry. But I will never make anything because it is on trend or sells well. I do what I enjoy doing and hope that you will enjoy this too.
