What is the inspiration behind Lilla Stugan? The daughter of Swedish immigrants in America. She was a seamstress her whole life. I remember countless nights falling asleep to the sound of her sewing machine in the room across the hall from where I slept at her house, working on a dress for a customer. Her stealing my brother’s ripped jeans and patching them against his wishes so he wouldn’t look like a “bum”
 hearing stories of her youth working in a sweatshop with her 3 sisters. My gramma Tillie was and continues to be my inspiration and muse.
