Another lovely pattern from Makalani! Thank you xx

I know that the Jasmine Stitch can be tricky at first. It is hard!

Knowing that my patterns and tutorials are helping you crack the code and master the stitch makes me so happy! 💛

Trust me, these 7 tips make a huge difference! 💫

1. Start with the right project!

The Jasmine Stitch is pretty complex, and if you start with an advanced deisng, learning is going to be a lot harder.

Your first project should be worked back and forth and have no increases or decreases 💪

The Jasmine Hairband is perfect!

2. The yarn matters more than you think!

Getting pretty Jasmine Stitches with traditional 100% cotton yarn is HARD. I recommend trying wool.

Look for yarn that feels a little thick but goes nice and flat when you press it between your fingers. Avoid yarn that splits into separate strands easily.

✨ My faves? Blown yarn types like Air from , Divina from or Kos from (💚 Not an ad, just what works 😉)

3. Your first project won’t be perfect.

It’s not supposed to be. Learning the Jasmine Stitch takes time for all of us (it IS hard), so give yourself some grace!

4. Use a smaller hook than you normally would.

This keeps your flower centers small and neat, instead of being forced open.

4. You will need to frog / rip out some of your work / start over.

You will frog a lot at first! But Jasmine Stitch doesn’t frog like “normal” crochet.

Don’t yank the yarn! Instead, gently open the sc that secure the petals with your fingers, spread out the loops a little, then carefully pull the yarn.

6. Instagram crochet is staged.

Don’t compare your Jasmine journey to someone else’s highlight reel. You’re doing great 💛

7. You don’t have to do this alone.

Tester call still open! 🌸 Comment APPLY!

Do YOU want to be part of the Jasmine Cushion tester team?

You can make the cushion in any size, from a small pincushion to a large couch pillow. The small version is super quick once you’ve mastered the stitch!

Tester time: 2 weeks

Many yarn types will work well for this one and you are free to use yarn from stash.

The amount needed will depend greatly on what size you choose to make.

I am looking for 8 testers for the English pattern (there will be no Norwegian version this time).

Experience level required: This project is best suited for intermediate and advanced crocheters. You need to know basic stitches and terminology, and be able to read a pattern.

You do NOT need Jasmine Stitch experience to be part of the test, you can learn as you go!
