Great tips!😍
The aisle is your friend. The rest stop is your friend. Standing up every hour is your friend.
If you have lipedema, long travel days are an active management challenge. Sitting still for 4, 8, or 12 hours straight is one of the worst things you can do for lymphatic flow, and it's exactly what travel days ask of you.
The fix is simple, non-negotiable, and works: stand up every hour.
What "standing up every hour" actually looks like:
→ On a plane: walk to the loo and back, even if you don't need to. Do a few calf raises in the galley. Stretch your hands above your head.
→ On a long drive: stop every 90 minutes maximum. Get out. Walk around the car twice. Roll your shoulders.
→ On a train: walk to the cafe car. Wander the aisle. Stretch standing.
→ In an airport: stand instead of sit between gates. Walk to the next gate the long way around.
Pair it with compression (worn the whole travel day), good hydration (a litre more than feels normal), and low-salt snacks, and you'll arrive in much better shape than if you'd "saved your energy" by sitting still.
The legs you arrive with shape the start of your holiday. Stand up. And for more from a doctor with lipedema, our app is free 👉 app.lipedemaclinic.org
