OUR MASKS

The most important things to us are:
😷 Quality - we take pride in our craft
😷 Eco-friendly - As indigenous Pacific women we wanted to avoid adding more plastic into the environment. The outer shell is predominantly cotton, however, we had to use non-woven spun-bond for the middle layer(s) for function and protection.
😷 Comfort - adjustable fabric ear loops instead of elastic
😷 Design - stylish and practical but always evolving
😷 Fit for purpose - for public use with waterproof layer to protect others from your droplets, accords with World Health Organisation guidelines and our name is on our mask so we stand by it
😷 Function - (most important) in some cases, we have had to compromise to ensure function.

Our mask varieties are:
😷 3 Layers including 100gsm spunbound middle
😷 4 Layers including 2 x 100gsm spunbound middle

OUR STORY

After working together for 25 - 30 years, our old employer could not keep us all on and we were made redundant during COVID. Finding new jobs in our profession would not be easy. Sewing is what most of us know, having worked in this industry since we were teenagers - which wasn't that long ago 🤥

So we came together to create a company making reusable face masks. This became important in our community of South Auckland when the new cluster outbreak hit. We had family at schools where masks were compulsory.

While we started with masks, our old workplace has been supportive and given small contracts making clothes which is appreciated. We are new at "being our own bosses" and it is an exciting start which we hope will open new doors for us, our whānau and our communities.

We have masks for sale, can make bulk clothing and provide bulk sewing services for other businesses. In the near future we hope to employ our whānau to carry out embroidery and deliver for us too... watch this space. We would love to support your clothing business needs.
