Samantha How's project SENAIR, is a Sleep Apnea Therapy device that redefines the aesthetics of at home medical therapy through a discrete and contemporary form language to reflect the lifestyle of the users. Sleep apnea is a condition that affects many adults globally so her project aims to be intuitive and easy-to-use so it will eliminate barriers that interrupt the patient’s compliance to their therapy and reduce the stigma attached to the condition.

As a design student, Samantha is interested in how design affects all aspect of our wellbeing through Family Health, Spirituality, Physicality, Mental Health and how our design decisions affect our lifestyle.

Nick Fromont's project, Mocean is a tough rechargeable safety and rescue device, designed for rugged ocean adventure. The versatility of the design allows use for all rugged adventure however, because of its ability to be comfortably strapped to the arm, chest, belt or life jacket.

The purpose of this design is to allow for safer ocean expeditions for passionate adventurers. By also including recreational and useful functions to the product, it is enticing enough for any adventurer to justify taking it with them on their expedition.

Holly Haines' project is focused on helping prevent distraction while driving, specially looking at younger drivers and cell phone usage.
The final solution is a central control hub for the user’s car and phone which is controlled trough voice command or simple actions simplifying interactions while driving. The device allows access to useful information while preventing the use of distracting applications.

This project is in collaboration with the AUT Engineering Department and the AUT Bio-Design Lab.
