This handwoven peace Silk is full of unique character, offering a softly textured hand feel akin to beautiful tweed cloth. Unlike glossy Silks, it features a rich matte finish and drapes fluidly without clinging, whilst still maintaining a comforting structure. Way back, when we initially took over the Beautiful Silks reins we were very excited about the stunning range of Linens.

Quickly we sold out of quite a few beloved ranges, we have been diligently working to expand this once massive range once again.

It doesn’t take long in this line of work to meet other passionate textile artists. Especially in New Zealand, where we all know of each other, so you can imagine my excitement to finally meet Biba from Sherazad Silks.
This talented powerhouse of lady now runs Sherazad Silks, taking over the reins from her late famous father Dr Anoop Bedi.

Their collection of Dupion handwoven fabrics & Powered Loom Silks are the largest in New Zealand & the most beautiful collection I’ve ever seen up close.

Established in 1986 and still running at huge demand today we greatly appreciated Biba taking time out of her busy schedule to share her story & helpful advice. As well as some of the most divine Kimonos I’ve ever had the pleasure of slipping on, made by Biba’s own fabulous label “Four Seasons”.

Our luxury Sari Silk Yarn is back, these luminescent threads are handspun from upcycled Sari Silk, the by product from the industrial Silk Sari weaving manufactures in India.

An unbelievably soft yarn that almost floats when draped & feels utterly blissful next to skin. Its chunkier nature is easy to work with, but unlike some messier recycled yarns this is smooth & easily glides through fabrics.

Its vibrant Ivory sheen colour comes alive even under dim lights & glows brilliantly in the light .
As it’s crafted from recycled materials some may have just the slightest touch of dyes, most unnoticeable, easily & radiantly covered with natural dyes.
