We've been a bit MIA lately, but for a very good reason we promise! 😅 Say hello to the newest addition to our family, smiley wee Lincoln. Well, not so 'wee' actually, this fella has clearly got some dachie genes in him as he is veeeery long (over 60cms) and already 6.7kgs at only 9 weeks old!! He clearly loves food just like Rocky did 😂 Was super fun doing up his nursery with our prints and this gorgeous felt Llama head from Little Lambs Creative 😍 And naturally making sure all his clothes and blankies (made by his wonderful nana) have saussies on them - that's a must in our household 😂😂 Kate also has another little one on the way, a baby girl due in 3 weeks, so we may be a bit quiet for awhile longer while we both get our bearings! We are still shipping items though in between feeds, nappy changes and sleep, boss ladies don't stop right!? 💪😅

3 years in the making and we can finally say we've done it!! Kate and I were so humbled that Kelly asked us to write and illustrate her amazing son Finn's story, feeling very proud today to see such a beautiful project come to life for a great cause ❤❤❤

Phew!!! What a day!!! Auckland was definitely ready to shop at the General Collective today (including us 😅😅), was so great seeing friendly faces and meeting new ones. To celebrate Samoan Language Week we decided to make Koko Laisa (Cocoa Rice). Yum!! We didn’t have any koko (Samoan cocoa) so we used ordinary cocoa but it tasted just as good, well maybe not quite as good as Kate’s mum-in-law makes it 🤣😊 Let us know if you try and make it yourself using the recipe below!

Serves 4
⅓ cup medium grain rice
3 cups water or coconut water
2 tbsp cocoa, or koko Samoa, grated
1 ½ tbsp sugar
1 lemon leaves
2 tbsp coconut cream

Place all ingredients, except coconut cream, in a saucepan.
Bring to the boil and then lower to a gentle simmer, stir occasionally to avoid it sticking to the bottom
Continue to cook slowly until the rice is cooked and covered in a creamy chocolate sauce (or desired consistency) about 30-40 minutes.
Take off heat and add the coconut cream and stir through.

Talofa Lava... it's me, Kate! This week is Samoan Language Week and this year's theme urges us to prepare for the journey ahead. It highlights the need to honour, respect and share the gifts of our life journey 😍🌺

I'd love you to join me in celebrating and learning about this amazing culture that's near and dear to my heart. My husband Rob is Samoan and his family play a very big part in my life (and Jackson's!). We're going to run a cute wee series on different themes this week so keep an eye out 🤗❤
