Handmade pottery made in Devonport Auckland

Ceramics has taught me patience, every step takes alot of time. Throwing ,drying ,trimming ,bisque firing, glazing and glaze firing. And at every stage things can and do go wrong
Still experimenting with glazes but my current

Wandering around Devonport and came across lots of interesting and inspiring textures and colours for pottery

Sometimes it's about the fine details that can surprise you especially when the wider view is revealed

Latest kiln opening

Lots of bowls and a few dinosaurs

Blue speckled- honey flux x2 under jungle gems blue caprice x2

Multi colored bowls - honey flux x2 under with second layer, rasp mist, blue midnight,emerald falls and artic blue x2

Dinosaurs - coloured green clay

Vase - carved with base of honey flux x2 with colours placed on flowers, leaves emerald falls, marigold

Canister- floating turquoise spectrum x2

Jug- turquoise slip with white on flowers topped by abbotts clear

Kiln opening - still trying to figure out the best way to load a glaze firing. It never fits as much as I want especially with large bowls but at least I can fit lots of test tiles!

If interested in glazes , just message .Happy to share , just let me know what takes your fancy!

My fav the Classic iron lustre and oatmeal , with special mention to the spectrum glazes on red clay .

Takapuna Sunday Market is definitely worth a look. It's starting to regain the pre Covid vibe , a flea market with anything and everything! Flowers,veggies, vintage and pop culture merch. It's not as big as in it's prime but it's getting there.

Every Sunday and you can't beat Takapuna beach on a sunny day
