We noticed kākahu were a big seller this round 👀lesson learnt! Next time we’ll come prepared with more, especially since these were our last stock from Te Matatini.

We’re excited to share that Waitangi has officially confirmed we’ve been allocated a stall site at the Waitangi Sports Field for Waitangi Day 🙌

🗓 Two-day trade:
Thursday 5th & Friday 6th February

✨ We’ll have:
• Plenty of flax pōtae in a range of sizes
• A kākahu clear-out 👀🔥

💥 All kākahu will be discounted as we need to clear stock so get in quick!

WE ARE REOPENING✨

Kia ora whānau,

We’re pleased to announce that our business will be reopening on Monday, 12 January.

We are now open for business and currently taking Maro orders, with Maro already in stock and ready for 2026.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be focusing on creating kākahu for sale as we work to build up our collection.

Whanau, I am writing to inform you that Kaikihikihi Arts remains operational, despite the passage of time. Over recent months, we have addressed numerous kaupapa, keeping us very busy with mahi. We aspire to post more frequently.

KaiKihikihi Arts Update

We will have a collection of Kākahu, Pēke Pātara Wai and Piu bags for sale.

Our focus this year however is flax Pōtae. We hope to have 1,000 hand woven potae available.

We have noticed a lot on incoming messages to pre purchase Pōtae. Kia manawanui mai e te whanau, we are flat tack and are currently shipping stock to Taranaki for store ahead of the festival.

UPDATE:
Kia Ora Whanau,
We are currently pulling back on mahi for the next 4 weeks.
We are in the process of a major renovation /upgrade of our workshop.
Insulation / re cladding and new joinery are underway, to enable us to work in more comfortable conditions .

Business Update

Over the past year, we've been deeply immersed in numerous Kapa Haka Competitions, which has limited our online presence. We're excited to share that plans are underway to upgrade and renovate our workshop. These improvements will help us expand our business and work more efficiently.

We apologize for the temporary closure of our online shopping site, however, we are currently working on loading new stock and aim to have the site operational within the next two weeks. There will be regular updates during the next few weeks of stock that will be available for purchase.

We are currently clearing stocks to make room for a workshop upgrade.

WAITANGI DAY STALL
Kia Ora Whanau,
Kaikihikihi Arts will be having a stall at Waitangi next week.
All stock must go! Limited stock only.

We specialise in kakahu, and have attached a few photos of these but there will be more availabe on the day.

No pre ordering, only available for purchase at Waitangi.

We are based at the sports field over the bridge and have attached a picture of our stall location below.
