Access to genuinely adaptive footwear in NZ has historically been limited, most mainstream shoe shops simply don't carry designs built around swollen or sensitive feet.

Our footwear range was put together specifically for this gap - wide openings, adjustable Velcro straps, soft materials, and non-slip soles. Styles for cooler months and warmer weather, open-toe and closed, all shipped from our local NZ warehouse.

If you're not sure which style suits your situation, just message us, we're happy to help.

Three mistakes people make when buying shoes for swollen feet:
❌ Buying in the morning: feet are smallest then. Try later in the day.
❌ Going up a length: a longer shoe doesn't help with width or ankle circumference.
❌ Assuming they'll "stretch": relying on break-in time with swollen feet can cause real damage before the shoe ever softens.

Adaptive footwear avoids all three of these problems by design.

Older adults are at higher risk of dehydration, and one of the most common reasons is that drinking has become difficult or uncomfortable.

Weak grip, fear of spilling, needing help to tilt a cup, these things add up, and people drink less as a result.

An adaptive cup that's easy to hold, doesn't spill, and doesn't require tilting removes several of those barriers at once. Small change, real difference.

If you're helping a parent or loved one find shoes that actually fit, this one's for you.

The biggest challenge carers tell us about isn't finding a wide shoe. It's finding one that's easy to put on without causing discomfort, doesn't need bending or struggling with laces, and stays on securely through the day.

A shoe that opens completely flat, with large Velcro tabs, makes a real difference to daily independence, for the person wearing them, and for the carer helping.

For anyone managing diabetes, footwear isn't just about comfort, it's about protecting your feet.

Diabetic neuropathy reduces sensation, which means pressure from ill-fitting shoes can cause damage that goes unnoticed until it becomes serious. A seamless interior, generous width, and soft materials aren't just nice to have, they're genuinely important.

Pairing the right shoes with seamless diabetic socks adds another layer of protection.

If someone in your household uses disposable incontinence products regularly, the cost adds up quickly.

Washable incontinence underwear is machine washable, reusable, and designed to last. For day-to-day use, many people find it more comfortable than disposables too - soft cotton against the skin, no plastic layers, no bulk under clothing.

It won't replace disposables in every situation. But for daily wear and light to moderate leaks, it's worth considering.

If one foot is more swollen than the other, you're not alone. It's actually very common, especially with conditions like lymphedema, diabetes, or after surgery.

The rule is simple: always size to the larger or more swollen foot.

Adjustable Velcro straps can then be loosened on the other side to compensate. It's one of the reasons adjustable footwear works so much better than standard shoes for this situation.

If you're helping someone drink, you'll know how awkward it can get, especially when they can't tilt their head, or spills are a constant worry.

This adaptive cup was designed with exactly that situation in mind. The flexible 35cm straw bends to reach the mouth without the person needing to sit up. The lid keeps the drink covered and spill-resistant. And the easy-grip handles mean they can hold it themselves if they have any hand strength at all.

Sometimes the right tool makes caring a little easier, for everyone involved.
