Good afternoon all. Hope everyone is enjoying "summer" which has been a little different this year. Just thought that I would tell you all about a slight difference to Sew Chic. Yes, I am still doing everything I have been doing but concentrating a little more in creating crafts. I love doing them and consequently have a few items here. I have included some photos of some of the items I have for sale. They would make nice gifts or perhaps something for your home. The front one is a table runner plus there are coffee table mats, wallets and credit card holders amongst other things.

Good afternoon all. I am so happy to share some news with you all. I have just recently got a craft table which I can work from, and it's at a decent height. No more bending over a trestle table and getting a sore back! Yay!!! It makes sewing and craft work so much easier. Also, although you may not have heard much from me in the last few weeks, we have been busy working through some ideas and plans. Now I am in the position to offer not only a new branch of sewing, Chris Crafts, which is handmade quilting and other craft items but to also offer knit fabric sewing classes to those who are interested. Please note that numbers for the classes are strictly limited due to the space available. Either call in to see me regarding these or alternatively give me a phone call.

Happy New Year to everyone. Here's an update after a lengthy quiet time. On Tuesday I re-open after our Christmas and New Year break. We had a wonderful time and I hope you had a great time too. Unfortunately I have had to increase some prices slightly but I do have an updated price list available if you require one. The good news for parents of young people needing school uniform hems done. I am able to offer a discounted rate on these through till Waitangi Day (6.2.24). Also don't forget I have craft items available from Chris Crafts. These are all handmade and prices are available on request. Here are some pictures of some of my latest creations.

Good afternoon again. Not often I post on days so close together but I just had to share these photos. After watching The Great British Sewing Bee programme on TV I thought I just had to try this. Patchworking my scraps together to make my own material and make something else. So I did just that - and made this cute little cushion along with the teddy bear, which was already cut out, to gift to a little person who had been evacuated during Gabrielle and had lost everything, well nearly. She and her family could probably have used all the hugs and love anyway. Hope you love the idea as much as I did - as well as the results!

Good morning all. It seems a while since I have posted here but what with health, weather and sewing time has passed, rather quickly. Even now I hear something else demanding my attention, not children but other things. Well, the weather has certainly given us all pause for thought but the good news is that I am still going and we weren't too badly affected. Unlike some other unfortunate people in the Bay. My heart and prayers go out to them all. Sewing progresses well and I would love to hear from you when you are needing some work done. Take care everyone and keep safe and well.

Good morning all and Happy New Year to everyone. Let us all hope that 2023 is good to you. I, for one, am hoping that this year goes more smoothly than the last. Not that we didn't have those good and precious moments with new family, a new granddaughter and extended family visiting from overseas there was plenty to celebrate. Making memories is a great thing. Now I have a question to ask which you may be able to help me with. After several comments and requests I am now in a position to offer sewing lessons for those interested. Let me know please if you would be interested and would like to take up this offer. The minimum age for these would be 16 and spaces are limited to 4 people. If you could let me know then I will then let you know if this is a viable venture. The proposed dates, times and cost are below. Other times could be added if necessary. Good evening all. What a beautiful day we have had. Time to get the lawns mowed - eventually! Even managed to get out in the garden for a while. Plenty of weeding and upkeep to be done there. After the last several months it has kind of got away on me a bit. Still a bit of fine weather and hard work and we will see it tidier. Apart from that there has been my sewing. Here is an example of some more work I have done over the last few weeks. This time it is a bit of patchwork. It was fun.

As I mentioned in my last post I have been having fun trying out new activities. I thought I liked the look of Cathedral Window cushions and decided to try it out. It's not a cushion but a mat for the table using the same technique. I reckon it looks not too bad, if I say so myself. It might look pretty good as a bedcover too. What do you think.

I have been having a bit of fun over the last few weeks. One thing I learnt while making a skirt was how to add a kick pleat to a straight skirt pattern. Wow! Still learning! I think it came out all right too. I have also been having fun learning how to do other craft type projects. More to come on that topic.
Add to that there have been other things to do. Shortening trousers, just a few of them! Then there have been bridesmaids dresses, top to alter and the other things that people want to have altered.

Good afternoon folks. I liked the nice sunny morning but not so sure about this cloud coming in. Still, it is officially winter so I guess we can expect some "off" days.
In the meantime isn't it nice to see some signs of spring flowers already. Not sure that they know what the season is but they are cheerful. I even have some orchids coming out in flower. Spring flowers and autumn leaves - what a mixup!!
Now things are hopefully settling down I will once again try to get the yellow flag out. There are a few days coming up where I will have to be out but not for a weeks at a time. Fingers crossed! However, after all the hiccups of the past year and taking to heart what I have been told service may be a bit slower and I will take things easier but I will still be available to do sewing for you. The phone number is still the same but the flag may not be out for quite as long. Hope to see you soon and have a great day.

Hi folks. Keeping you up to date - again. Just as I thought I had things sorted and that I would be around till approximately the end of May and so would be open for sewing. Well, we know what they say about the best laid plans and it so happens that it is now that I will be out of action again but this time for about 10 days - 2 weeks. So hold those alterations for just a few more days and I will be back, hopefully with no more holdups. The yellow flag will be out again soon so keep a look out for it. In the meantime hoping you all keeping well.
