I was blaming poor light and black fabric for my stitching difficulties but it was me getting older and needing reading glasses. Oh what a difference. That's one less excuse for not finishing my coat and bag.

How glorious is this 1932 Australian pattern? It has been leading me a merry dance with scanning errors from the original newspaper article and a 2 stitch error in one row that I've had to chart to work out where the error is.
I'm wondering how many women wrote to the 'Adelaide Advertiser' in the 1930s about the error or if there was an update in a later edition of the newspaper.
I'm enjoying seeing how the design turns out as the newspaper picture is so unclear and there are no projects in Ravelry. Mine is the first.

I bought myself a necklace and clip on earrings from Napier Antique Centre as a birthday present.

Now the twinset is complete, it's time to crack on with the squares and cables sweater for the Hawke's Bay Show in October.

As I don't enjoy darning in a million ends at the end of the project, I'm going to do it as I go.

I had hoped to get some photos and videos of my completed twinset at the former National Distillery building but it is really windy here this afternoon.

Finished this morning, just in time for my birthday lunch with denisemcbride at FG Smith Eatery Napier in Ossian Street, Ahuriri. I set up my tripod but it was far too windy. A reason to go back another time to get the photos done. Despite the wind, which is supposed to get much worse tonight, it was 20° and sunny.

On my list of things to do today is to make a feijoa, white chocolate and custard cheesecake using fine New Zealand ingredients. The feijoas have been in the freezer since March and saved especially for this cheesecake.
